The problem

Generic freelance sites weren't built for agency work.

Agencies wade through hundreds of unvetted profiles and race-to-the-bottom quotes to find someone who understands a campaign brief.

Talented Egyptian creatives — fluent in Arabic and English, experienced with regional brands — compete against everyone, everywhere, for work that doesn't value their craft.

Meritlist narrows the field on both sides, so every brief reaches the right people and every proposal is worth reading.

How it works

One simple loop, two sides.

For agencies

  1. 1

    Apply and get verified

We check your business documents, payment terms and market reputation before you can post.

  2. 2

    Post a structured brief

Deliverables, languages, references, deadline, budget range, assets and revision expectations — in one form.

  3. 3

    We review the brief

Every brief is checked for clarity before it goes live, so creatives can quote accurately.

  4. 4

    Compare anonymous proposals

Only creatives approved in that specialty can respond. You see their work, approach, price and timing — not their name — so you judge on merit.

  5. 5

    Ask questions, then choose

Clarify details in an anonymous Q&A thread on each proposal, then select one.

  6. 6

    Receive quality-checked work

Deliverables are reviewed by Meritlist against your brief before they reach you.

For freelancers

  1. 1

    Apply with your portfolio

Tell us your specialty and share your best work. No unpaid tests.

  2. 2

    Portfolio review

Our team reviews your work and track record, with a short interview when needed.

  3. 3

    See briefs in your specialty

Once approved, you only see briefs that match what you were approved for.

  4. 4

    Send a private proposal

Price, delivery date, approach, relevant samples and questions. Other freelancers never see it.

  5. 5

    Answer questions, get selected

Talk with the agency in an anonymous Q&A thread. Track every proposal and withdraw any time before a decision.

  6. 6

    Deliver through Meritlist

Submit your files for a Meritlist quality check. You get private feedback if anything needs polish before the agency sees it.

What makes it different

Curated, specialised, and built around the brief.

Vetted on both sides

Agencies are checked for legitimacy. Freelancers are portfolio-reviewed. Nobody gets in by default.

Advertising only

Five specialties, one industry. Briefs and proposals speak the language of agencies, not generic gig work.

Anonymous on both sides

Agencies see Creative #417, not a name. Creatives see a Dubai brand agency, not a logo. Contact details are filtered from every message.

Quality-checked delivery

Every deliverable passes a Meritlist review against the brief before the agency receives it.

Private proposals

Freelancers can't see each other's quotes, so they compete on ideas, not on undercutting.

Samples first, price second

Proposals lead with relevant work and approach. We never sort by lowest price by default.

No unpaid tests

Creatives are judged on real portfolio work — not free spec work for a chance at a job.

Arabic-native talent

Egyptian creatives who work in Arabic and English, for GCC and European agencies.

Launch specialties

Five crafts. Deep, not wide.

01

Copywriting

Arabic-first and bilingual lines, scripts and long-form — written, not translated.

02

Graphic design

Key visuals, campaign adaptations, packaging and bilingual layouts.

03

Creative strategy

Launch concepts, brand platforms and content frameworks.

04

Motion graphics

Logo stings, social loops and explainer animation.

05

Video editing

TVC cut-downs, social-first edits and versioning.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Who can join as an agency?+

Advertising, marketing and creative agencies, starting in the GCC and then Europe. Every agency is verified before posting.

Who can join as a freelancer?+

Egypt-based creatives in our five launch specialties. Approval is based on portfolio review, plus an interview when needed.

Does it cost anything to apply or send proposals?+

No. Applying and sending proposals is free. Commercial terms for the platform are still being finalised.

How are payments handled?+

Payments aren't handled on the platform yet. Commercial terms are still being finalised.

Will the agency and creative know who each other are?+

No. Both sides stay anonymous. Only Meritlist sees real identities, and contact details are removed from messages automatically.

Who checks the work before delivery?+

Meritlist reviews every deliverable against the brief. If something needs polish, the creative gets private feedback first.

Can other freelancers see my proposal?+

No. Proposals are visible only to the agency that posted the brief, without your name.

What kind of work is it for?+

Mostly individual deliverables at first — a set of key visuals, taglines, a logo animation, a cut-down suite.

Better briefs. Better proposals. Better work.
